Civil and Litigation.
Not every dispute ends up in court, but some do. We represent companies and business owners in civil and commercial proceedings, and before going in we tell you frankly what to expect, how long it may take and whether litigating or negotiating makes more sense in your case.
What we do in this area
We handle civil and commercial proceedings: collection of unpaid invoices and promissory notes, breach of contract, damages, shareholder disputes and property claims. We prepare the strategy, draft the filings, appear at hearings and argue the case. When there is a risk the debtor will dispose of assets, we seek the precautionary and pre-trial measures that apply before it is too late. We also act in arbitration, where a good share of significant commercial disputes is resolved.
Before filing, we give you a frank assessment: what evidence exists, what can realistically be recovered, what it will cost and how long it will take. A case won against an important client is rarely good business, and we have that conversation at the start, not once the claim has been filed.
When a negotiated outcome beats a judgment, we negotiate. The ability to litigate is precisely what carries weight at that table: negotiations run differently when the other side knows there is preparation and a willingness to go to court.
